Thanks guys. This has been a good seller recently. The Lord Ganesha from Hinduism is a Clearer of Obstacles.Every prayer begins with the half human-half elephant God.Here I did a playful version of the Elephant God Ganesah in my fav style of polka dots.

Artist's Description

This is a painting with dual intepretations. On the one hand it is a literal representaton of an elephant decorated in dots. On the other hand the elephant represents the Hindu deity Lord Ganesha, who is worshipped at rituals as the One who clears obstacles. In India elephants have elaborate decoration as they parade the streets. This is an African elephant ( identified by the big ears) yet HE is bedecked as an Indian elephant. This derives from my identity as an Indian born in South Africa.

I spent many years working with clay and glazes Recently I have decided to focus on my longest lasting passions- mixed media and photography. My travels around the world and the diversity of cultures is what truly inspires me. Nature of course ranks number one. I enjoy the...
